Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look together at these Diode Dynamics SS3 Max LED Fog Pod Lights with Brackets. Now these three inch LED fog pod lights are going to give you bright light with reduced glare for improved visibility and safety. Now as you can see, I have this light already connected to my power source, and what you see here is the amber backlight that's currently on. But I also have one of the brackets installed on this light, just to kind of show you what this is going to look like when the bracket is installed with the included hardware.

And so these brackets are going to let you install these lights virtually anywhere on your vehicle. And then you're gonna be able to easily adjust the angle of the light in the bracket, and then you'll just tighten those down even further to hold that light at that angle that you are looking for. The brackets are constructed of durable aluminum. And so this is what the bracket's going to look like when it's not installed on the light. And then this is the hardware, but then this kind of gives you an idea of what it's gonna look like installed.

Now this amber backlight is one of my favorite features of these lights. As you can see, it's going to give you a stylish touch, or more visibility when you're not using the main beam. So let me turn my studio lights off here, just to give you a better demonstration of what that backlight is going to look like in low light or dark conditions. And then I'm gonna zoom out here, just so you get a view of it from a distance. And then I'm gonna turn this light just a little bit on an angle here, so I don't blind you with that main fog beam.

So you see what that looks like. And then I'm gonna shine this on the wall behind me, just to give you a view of that pattern. And that fog pattern is gonna give you high intensity light in an extremely wide field of view, as you can see there. And these lights have a color temperature of 3,000 kelvin yellow. So this is gonna be perfect for bad weather, like rain or fog.

And so that's the main beam again, and then that's going to be the amber backlight. I'm gonna go ahead and turn my studio lights back on. And then I'm just going to show you that beam on the wall behind me one more time with those lights, with my lights on, again, just so you can see how intense and bright that light is. So taking another closeup look here at these lights, the raw lumen rating of these lights is 7,920 lumens, and then the measured lumen rating is 3,500 lumens. Now the peak beam intensity is 12,500 candela. And in case you don't know, candela ratings measure the directional light output, and it's how anything is rated where you want light shining in a specific direction. Lumin ratings are just for omnidirectional output, like your regular light bulbs, where you want light shining in all directions. Now these lights have a power draw on the main beam of three amps, and then the backlight has a power draw of 0.03 amps. And these lights are designed with a newer technology known as custom TIR optics, which stand for Total Internal Reflection. Unlike the older technology that uses reflectors or simple projector lenses, which aren't great at focusing all of the light where you want it, the custom designed large TIR optic actually collects and focuses all of the light forward very efficiently. And from there, instead of having another external lens, certain lens patterns have been molded directly into the surface of the lens. So that's going to prevent the normal efficiency loss you see with an outside lens. As you probably know, when you shine light through any type of glass or plastic, you could lose up to 10% of that light just from its shining through. So by making it as part of this lens, you're gonna pick up some efficiency there. Now this does include the industry standard Deutch-style connector. And let me turn this light around just so you can see that, where it's gonna plug right in here. And so these pigtails are included, and of course I'm using that one here with this light. And then this also has a breather patch, as you can see right there at the back of the light. That's going to prevent any moisture buildup. And then the heat sinks that you see here on the back of the housing, those heat sinks are gonna dissipate the heat quickly to increase the longevity of these lights. Now this light has been built with high intensity LED chips, and they feature a durable powder coated aluminum construction. And the heavy duty construction will withstand extreme temperatures, such as corrosion and vibration. Testing has actually been completed to SAE standards, just like your factory lighting components. And in case you didn't know, Diode Dynamics engineered and designed and assembled these lights right down the highway from us at their headquarters here in the Greater St. Louis area. Now, I told you that these were three inch pod lights. The overall measurements from end to end on that width is about three and a quarter inches. And the same for the height, three and a quarter inches tall. And then the depth from the front of our light to the end of our heat sinks here, we're sitting at about three and three quarter inches deep. Now, as I'm sure you can understand, these lights draw high current, and they do require adequately sized wiring for safe operation. Now, if you're not using a Diode Dynamics wiring harness, it is recommended that you use wire that is 16 gauge or greater for safe operation. Now, we do offer these lights either as a set of two with a full bracket set as you see here, or you could just get one light with a bracket, or you can get these lights without brackets at all.
